Stock im Eisen Platz is a square located in the historic center of Vienna, which actually merges with Stephansplatz. Previously, these two squares were separated from each other by only one house, which was destroyed during the Second World War. After the end of the war, the house was not restored, but the remains were removed. Thus, both areas have merged.

The area got its name from a piece of spruce trunk with a large number of nails driven into it and belted with iron staples. The barrel is placed in a glass cylinder and is located at the corner of the former fairgrounds, being one of the symbols of Vienna.

Two famous Vienna streets - Graben and Karntnerstrasse leave from Stock im Eisen Platz.
