In recent decades, containers have become more often used in maritime transport, due to with which the warehouse quarters are partially empty. In one of the knowledge in our time is the Speicherstadt Museum, where you can see ancient devices used once for transportation and storage of goods. The museum also hosts tea and coffee tastings. Also worth a visit is the Spice Museum, located in an area where the Pepper Man is greeted at the door on Sundays. in a cap in the form of a pepper mill, which tells about the cultivation and production of spices. The museum itself contains more than 50 varieties of spices. Not far from the Spice Museum is the Customs Museum, where you can learn about the history of the development of customs. The history of the museum is quite interesting. Until the middle of the 19th century, a cemetery with St. Anne's chapel was located on the territory of Speicherstadt. Soon the customs officers settled in the chapel. Since the 1950s, the building has been used as a public restroom. Currently, the building also houses the 'Fleetschlosschen' restaurant. Also noteworthy is the Museum of Afghanistan, where you can watch the work of a shoemaker in a traditional workshop, the work of a baker baking Arabic bread, and the work of a 'porcelain master'. In 2000, the MiniaturWunderland Museum was opened, which has already gained great popularity in Germany. The exposition is based on a model of the railway, which is the largest in the world.
