King Faisal Mosque in the UAE, Sharjah Resort

King Faisal Mosque is one of the largest mosques in the UAE. It is located next to the central city market. The mosque received its name in honor of the King of Saudi Arabia - Faisal, who initiated the construction of this mosque.

The temple was built from 1976 to 1986 by the design of the Turkish architect Vedat Dalokai. It covers an area of 5 thousand square meters and can accommodate about 3 thousand parishioners. The building of the temple consists of a central hall, several auditoriums and galleries. The walls of the central hall are decorated with mosaics and the ceiling is decorated with a large beautiful chandelier.

It is worth noting that the International University of Islam is located in the King Faisal Mosque.

The King Faisal Mosque is also called the Cathedral Mosque. She is the symbol and pride of Sharjah.
