Because of this, there is a mixture of different architectural styles in the cathedral: Baroque, Plateresco and late Gothic. The main entrances of the Cathedrals, the most richly decorated, are made in the Plateresco style. Particularly striking is the north gate, the bas-relief of which depicts Christ entering Jerusalem. The length of the cathedral is 104 meters, and the width is – 48 meters. The cathedral choirs are adorned with baroque seats and sculptures by Alberto de Churriguera. The chapels house a variety of art objects, including a statue of the patron saint of the city, Saint Virgin de la Cueva (in Marshal's Chapel) and the tomb with the relics (in the Golden Chapel). At the very beginning of the covered gallery is a crucifix of the 11th century, which, according to legend, the military leader Sid presented to the future bishop of Salamanca and then brother-in-arms Jeronimo. There is a 110-meter high tower next to the cathedral. Its magnificent dome was made by Joaquin de Churriguer. The lower floors were fortified in 1755 to protect the tower from earthquakes.
