This fortress of Christian monks is located slightly to the left of the Calahorra Tower. Some of the walls were built during the Mauritanian rule, but most of them appeared in the 14th century by order of King Alfonso the Eleventh, who wanted to strengthen the fortress.

The fortress contains magnificent Roman mosaics. The walls are surrounded by magnificent gardens with fountains and pools, which are illuminated in the evenings. In general, these gardens are quite unusual. Despite the fact that they belong to a Christian residence, everything in them is made in the Arabian style.

In front of the main building is the Camposanto de los Martires square. According to legend, Christian martyrs were executed on it.
