The facade of the building was painted with horizontal stripes of brown and yellow ocher. The entrance portal was framed with light sandstone. The paintings on the walls of the church are the work of G. Vislicenus. The altar icons of Alexander Nevsky and Mary Magdalene were painted by the painter Nissen. The main attraction of the temple is the carved iconostasis created by Russian craftsmen. In the crypt in the northern part of the church there is a sarcophagus in which the remains of Elena Pavlovna rest.
