Rating: 7,9/10 (1654 votes) Lin Phuoc Pagoda is located 8 kilometers from the central part of Dalat. The construction of the pagoda was started in 1949 and finished in 1952. In 1990, during the restoration work, a triple gate was added to the building on the street side to make it easier for tourists to find the pagoda. A multi-storey tower decorated with dragons deserves attention in the courtyard. The tower is about 27 meters high. The prayer hall is also no less beautiful – the ceiling of the room is supported by 12 dragons decorated with terracotta tiles. The lobby of the pagoda is decorated with an imposing statue of Alokiteshvara Bodhisattva, seated on a lotus flower. The height of the statue is 4.9 meters. On the right you can observe the patriarchal throne, and behind the image of Buddha-9-dragons, there is a beautiful garden with a pond, an orchid garden and miniature mountains. The pond is surrounded by a 49-meter statue, made in the form of a coiled dragon, decorated with glass tiles. In November 1999, the Great Bell was cast especially for the pagoda. The bell height is 4.3 meters, the diameter is – 2.2 meters, weight – 10 tons. We also recommend reading Lam Dong Museum in Vietnam, Dalat Resort Topic: Linh Phuoc Pagoda in Vietnam, Da Lat resort. |
