One Column Pagoda in Vietnam, Hanoi Resort

The construction of the pagoda was completed in 1049. The building was built in the shape of a lotus flower. Legend has it that once upon a time the goddess Kuan Am appeared to King Li Thai To in a dream, sitting on a lotus flower, who handed him a boy. The queen later became pregnant and gave birth to a son to the king. In gratitude, Lee Thai To built this pagoda. The pagoda is located in the center of the reservoir. Initially, the structure was made in the form of a stone column, mounted on an opened lotus flower. The top of the column was also decorated with a small lotus flower with a yellow Buddha statuette inside. During the frequent wars that took place in the country, the pagoda was destroyed. In the 19th century, restoration work was carried out here, after which the original appearance of the structure was lost.
