History Museum of Shaanxi Province in China, Xi'an Resort
Rating: 7,5/10 (1243 votes)  This museum is located northwest of Big Wild Goose Pagodas. The construction of the museum began in 1983, and by 1991 the construction was completed. The museum was officially opened on June 20, 1991. The museum is made in the style of the Tang dynasty. Its area is 65 thousand square meters, of which the building itself occupies 55.6 thousand square meters. The area of the exhibition halls is 11 thousand square meters. The museum contains a huge number of cultural treasures - from ancient stone tools found in China to household items of the 19th century people. Exhibits that are stored and exhibited in the museum, are very important for the historical heritage of not only China, but the whole world. There are many bronze, silver, gold and ceramic items, Buddhist shrines, unique frescoes and fragments of tombs of the Han and Tang dynasties. One of the main exhibits of the museum is the remains of Lantianensis erectus Homo. It is much older, but less famous than the famous Sinanthropus.
