The Cinque Terre National Park is located near La Spezia, on the coast in eastern Liguria. The reserve includes several small towns – Riomaggiore, Vernazza, Montresso al Mare, Manarola and Corniglia, which were founded in the Middle Ages.

Car traffic in cities is strictly prohibited, except for Montresso, but even here it is extremely limited.

In 1997, the reserve, together with the nearest islands – Tino, Palmaria and Tinetto, and the city of Portovenere have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Even in spite of the presence of civilization, the life of local residents has changed little. Nowadays, the reserve is a rather popular tourist attraction.

The shores in the Cinque Terre park are steep and rocky, the beaches are mostly pebbly, the beach in Monterosso is sandy. In the villages you can observe medieval defenses left by pirates.

The towns of Riomaggiore and Manarola are connected by the popular Road of Love in the region. The length of the road is about a kilometer. A small part of it passes through a tunnel where you can see graffiti on the walls. The road was laid in the 20s of the XX century. In the 90s the road was temporarily closed due to the danger of rockslides and landslides. Nowadays, the road is functioning.
