The building of the Church of St. Elijah (or St. Elijah Church) was designed by the famous architect H.K. Vasiliev, according to whose designs a number of churches were built in Alupka, Perekop, Gurzuf, Yanchokrak. The choice of a place for the construction of a new church in the center of the most populous area of the village was predetermined by the bell tower built in 1894, to which it was necessary to `` tie '' the volume of the temple, combining the bell tower and the church with an identical pattern

The temple was conceived by the architect as an impressive building. The architectural image of the church is based on the motives of Russian-Byzantine architecture.

In the years of theomachy "at the request of the working people of Sak and surrounding villages" Svyatoilinsky temple under the pretext that the building has cracked and requires major repairs, for which the church did not have the funds, they decided to convert it into a club. The temple suffered significant losses of architectural, structural and decorative elements of the interior.

During the Great Patriotic War, the temple was returned to the Church, services were resumed in it, which have not stopped since then to the present day. After 1990, the lost dome and 4 decorative domes of the church, its carved iconostasis, murals and interior decoration were gradually restored.
