Interestingly, the founder of the museum V. Naprstek himself never visited, for example, Africa. This part of the exhibition was brought by Emil Golub, whose expeditions were financed by Naprstek. He also published travel reports and arranged exhibitions of collected materials. In general, Voyta was very lucky with friends, among whom, besides travelers, there were also politicians, writers and artists. Thanks to friends, Vojta was able to assemble a rich collection of ethnographic artifacts that were brought from different countries. Today the museum houses more than 95 thousand exhibits. The museum was founded in 1862, the first exhibits were the creative fantasies of African aborigines, Australia, both Americas, Asia and Oceania. Subsequently, the collection was also replenished. The founder of the Czech Tourists' Club had to build a separate building especially for the museum.
