Vlaska church in Montenegro, Cetinje resort
Rating: 7,6/10 (1001 votes)  According to legend, this church was built by shepherds in 1450, three decades before the foundation of the city of Cetinje. In the church you can see frescoes created by Greek masters. The fence surrounding the church and the cemetery is very interesting; it is made of 1550 captured weapons captured from the Turks. There are many tombs of historical figures in the cemetery. So in 1989, the remains of the King of Montenegro Nikola I and his wife were transferred here from the Russian church in the city of San Remo. A monument"Soul of Lovcen" was erected in front of the church. It is dedicated to the people of Montenegro who emigrated to the United States, but as soon as the First World War began, they decided to return to defend their homeland. However, the ship they were returning on sank, and all passengers were killed.
