Rating: 7,8/10 (864 votes) The Basilica of Sant Andrea delle Fratte is a titular basilica in Rome dedicated to Saint Andrew. The temple was erected in 1192, and throughout the history of its existence, it was repeatedly rebuilt. Almost until the end of the 16th century, the building was the national church of the Scots, later it was transferred to the Order of the Minims. Francesco Borromini was engaged in the renovation of the apse, bell tower and dome in 1653, soon after his death the work was continued by Mattia de Rossi.
