First Bao Dai Palace in Vietnam, Dalat Resort

Initially, the palace was the residence of Robert Clement Bourgerie – representative of the French government. In August 1949, the palace was bought by Bao Dai, who made several improvements to the building. Bao Dai turned the palace into a headquarters and a `` royal territory. '' During construction work, an underground tunnel was discovered, but the emperor considered it necessary to remain silent about this find. The length of this tunnel is about 4 kilometers. It connects the First and Second Palaces, and its side branches lead to the villas located on Tran Hung Dao Street.
