The old town is connected to the mainland by an ancient stone bridge, and to the island by a drawbridge over a navigable canal. This part of the city is characterized by a large number of structures built on a relatively small area. Since 1997, the historical center of Trogir has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city center is represented by ancient buildings, palaces, churches, towers made in Romanesque style and complemented by elements of the Baroque and Renaissance styles. The largest building in the old town is the Cathedral of St. Lovro, which was built during the 12th - 15th centuries. Other structures of the historical center of Trogir are also of interest, such as the remains of the city walls, the city gate, the Kamerlengo fortress and the round tower of St. Mark, John Paul II square, Chipiko palace and many other sights of the old city.
