Rating: 7,5/10 (100 votes) This museum is well worth a visit for those interested in historical events such as the Taiping Uprising. It was one of the bloodiest uprisings in Chinese history. The building that houses the museum was formerly part of the palace of Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty. In 1853, Nanjing became the capital of Taiping, and the military leader Yang Xujing lived in this building. The museum has been in the building since 1958.
