The Grand Hotel in Rimini is a luxurious five-star hotel, famous throughout the world for its great tenant, director Federico Fellini. By the way, this is the only hotel of this level in Rimini, as well as the only hotel on the coast with its own beach. This is what makes it incredibly popular during the summer months.

The hotel was designed by the South American architect Paolo Somazzi, and the grand opening took place in July 1908. In 1920, a serious fire destroyed two decorative domes that adorned the roof - later it was decided not to restore them. Also, significant damage was caused to the building during the Second World War, but in the 1950s it was completely restored. In 1994, the "Grand Hotel" was declared a National Monument of Italy, which is under the protection of the Department of Fine Arts. The conference center, built in 1992 and equipped with the latest technology, is located next to the hotel.

Today "Grand Hotel" attracts the attention of tourists with its luxurious architecture in classical style. Its rooms are decorated with 18th century French and Venetian antiques. The wooden floors and the Venetian candelabra have been restored with the utmost care. The entire interior of the hotel with its furniture, paintings, lighting fixtures recreates the atmosphere of the past.

The "Grand Hotel" gained worldwide fame thanks to the great Italian director Federico Fellini and his films. As a child from a poor Rimini family, Fellini often gazed with admiration at the hotel building, pressing his nose against its fence and imagining its rich inhabitants. It was these childhood dreams that later inspired him to create the greatest films in the history of cinema. In particular, "Grand Hotel" can be seen in the film "Amarcord" - the main scenes of the picture take place against its background.

Fellini himself loved to stay at the hotel and always chose the same room. It was in this issue that the director suffered a heart attack, which eventually became the cause of his death. You can stay in Fellini's room today by prior arrangement.
