Hermon is a mountain range in the Anti-Lebanon mountain range. Mount Hermon is located on the border between Lebanon and Syria and is under the control of the Syrian authorities. Israel owns 70 km 2 Hermon – about 7% of the total area of the array. The slopes in the southern part of the massif pass partially into the Golan Heights.
The highest point of Hermon in Israel is 2236 meters above sea level.
Today, the slopes of the Herman massif are the only place in the country where excellent conditions for winter sports. In the greater territory of Herman today there is a nature reserve. There are also four settlements – Nimrod, Nave Ativ, Ein Kinia and Majdal Shams.
