Rabbi Akiva – one of the wisest people who lived in the Holy Land. He died in 135 AD, being in a very advanced age. It is believed that he comprehended the many secrets of the book, sacred for the Jews, – Torah.
The Romans executed Rabbi Akiva in one of the most painful ways, and it happened in Caesarea. Both the life of this sage and his martyrdom arouse exceptional respect in many believers. His tomb is traditionally visited by pilgrims visiting the Holy Land.
