Guangzhou TV Tower in China, Guangzhou Resort
Rating: 8,3/10 ( votes)  This TV tower is the tallest existing TV tower in the world (the taller tower is currently under construction in Tokyo). Guangzhou TV Tower was built in 2005-2009. Its height is 610 meters. The 450-meter tower is a hyperboloid load-bearing mesh structure and a central core. The mesh shell is made of thick steel pipes. The tower is crowned with a spire 160 meters high. The tower transmits television and radio signals. It also offers a beautiful view of Guangzhou. The tower can accommodate up to 10 thousand people at the same time. The project of the TV tower was developed by architects from the Netherlands Barbara Kuyth and Mark Hemel. The observation deck of the tower is at an altitude of 450 meters. Inside there are revolving restaurants, observatories, exhibition spaces, computer games rooms, shops and cinemas. At night, the tower glows thanks to lamps installed throughout the tower.
