Bat Dinh or White Villa is a former royal residence located among tropical trees on an overgrown hillside. This place is ideal for contemplation and relaxation.

The villa was built in 1909. The building was originally built as a refuge for Paul Dumiere – French governor. Subsequently, the villa became the summer residence of the imperial family of Vietnam. It was here that Emperor Thanh Thai was held under house arrest before being sent to hard labor.

In the 60s and 70s of the XX century, the villa served as a playground for the South Vietnamese president Thieu.

The exterior walls of the villa are decorated with Roman-style busts and colored mosaics, which in turn emphasizes the French style. Inside the building, you can observe a collection of old Chinese dishes, which were raised from a ship that sank in the 18th century off the coast of Kon Dao.
