Rating: 7,8/10 (800 votes) Villa Lisi recently opened for public visits. The villa is a legendary estate built by Baron Jacques d'Adelsward-Fersen in 1903. This French aristocrat, fleeing a scandal involving schoolchildren in Paris, decided to take refuge on the island of Capri. The Baron commissioned the architect Edward Chimot to design the villa. The building was erected in the Belle Epoque style, with flooring and columns decorated with gilded mosaics. Above the main entrance with a colonnade, one can observe the inscription `` Tomb of Love and Sorrow '', written in Latin. The halls of the villa have been decorated in Art Nouveau style. Unfortunately, nothing of the furniture has survived to this day. We also recommend reading Forza d'Agro in Italy, Sicily resort Topic: Villa Lisi in Italy, Capri resort. |
