The German Pavilion for the World Exhibition was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe ... A hundred years after his birth, in 1986, an exact copy of the destroyed original pavilion was built. The severity of the lines and the aesthetics of the materials: stone, steel and glass make a huge impression. A monument to Georg Kolbe stands at the pavilion.
