The Basilica of Hagia Sophia is a three-nave church with a ceiling.

The building was constructed on the site of an ancient agora in the late 5th - early 6th centuries. The basilica originally belonged to a monastery, which was destroyed in the Middle Ages. In the Byzantine era, the Church of Hagia Sophia was one of the significant buildings on the territory of Bulgaria.

The middle nave reaches 9.3 meters in width, in the east it ends with a large covered vase, the walls of which are three-sided on the outside, and round inside .
