Heavenly Lake (Tianchi) in China, Urumqi resort

According to legend, here the goddess Sivanmu performed ablutions. The lake stretches from northwest to southeast, it is located at an altitude of 1980 meters. The length of the lake is 3.3 kilometers, and the width is – 1.5 kilometers at its widest point. The depth of the lake – 150 meters. The lake was formed during the Ice Age. During the Qing Dynasty, the lake was renamed Tianchi. The water in it was formed from high-mountainous melted snow, so it is exceptionally clear and clean. The mountain on which the lake is located is covered with eternal snow. And from the coast of the Tianchi a wonderful view of the Tien Shan opens.
