Photo and description

On the border of the county, near the large picturesque river Lzhi, once there was a famous rich estate called Lyamonovo. Today, on the border with Latvia, which runs along the road to the city of Krasnogorodsk, you can see only fragments of a once rich manor. Lyamonovo is a small village, which, according to the administrative division, was part of the Pokrovskaya volost at the Opolochetsky district of the Pskov province. From the second half of the 18th century to the end of the 19th century, the estate belonged to the Peshchurov family, whose representative, in the person of Alexei Nikitich, was the leader of the Opochetsk nobility in the period from 1823 to 1828, which fell on the years of A.S. Pushkin's exile. in Mikhailovsky. Some time later, Alexei Nikitich was elected the Pskov and Vitebsk civil governors. He had a son, Alexei, as well as five daughters. According to the testimonies of local residents, in the church cemetery in the village of Lyamonovo, the family crypts of the Peshchurov family were located, in which the owner of the house with his wife Elizaveta Khristoforovna, their son and other relatives were buried. To date, the family crypts have been plundered.

As soon as at the end of 1822 Peshchurov was elected the leader of the district nobility, he constantly lived in Lyamonovo, and also was engaged in the improvement of his estate. At one time, A.S. himself was under the care of this man. Pushkin. Pushkin came to Lyamonovo to visit his lyceum friend Gorchakov, and he, in turn, was the nephew of Alexei Nikitich. Before reaching Lyamonovo literally 58 versts, A.S. Pushkin turned his attention to a tall, majestic pine tree that stood right next to the road. According to the classification, it was a giant pine, which has no equal in volume among all the representatives of the Pskov forests.

A.N. Peschurova occupied 4.5 acres, and this territory was divided in half by a road stretching from the south to the north. On the west side of the road, there is a manor house, along the edges of which there are wings, and behind the house itself there is a room intended for household needs, and on the south side of it you can see a park. On the north side, behind the backyard, there is a small area planted with trees, as well as a small pond and a smithy building. On the east side there are household yards. In the old days, there was a large room right by the road, most likely, there was a stable, as well as a seasonal and carriage sheds. Cellars and gardens were located behind a large room. The famous artist Naumov described that the village of Lyamonovo, at that time, was considered one of the richest and most luxurious among all the villages of the Pskov province. An important distinguishing feature, as well as the pride of the village, has become a luxurious flora and a well-planned park, equipped with numerous bright alleys, a bathing place and a pond.

It is known that in 1875 an Orthodox church built of bricks was located in the village of Lyamonovo , as well as a malt house, a distillery and its own mill.

During the 1950-1960s, a fairly large livestock farm was located in this place. Around the same time, a small dairy plant was built in the park area. Along the perimeter around Lyamonovo, work was carried out to grow grain, flax and potatoes.

At the moment, the park is in good condition with lime and maple alleys, as well as giant larch trees. The park leafy alley consists of 27 larches, one of which is dead. An ash-tree alley was miraculously preserved, but still more trees died. Among the aspen and spruce thickets, five more old mighty oaks grow. There are ancient willows not far from the road and the reservoir, and a majestic Siberian pine tree grows in the central part of the park. There is an alder alley and a bathhouse next to the cemetery. Literally two hundred meters from the ash alley in the direction to the north, in the thickets of aspen and alder, there is a second bathing house.

All buildings that were previously located on the Peshchurov estate have long been ruins, of which only the foundation remains. At the end of 1992, a three-meter-high cross was erected on the site of the dismantled church. In June 2004, a memorial plaque was erected in the village for Pushkin's birthday in honor of his meeting with his lyceum friend A.M. Gorchakov.
