Volyshovo is a village located in the Logovinsky volost, in the Porkhov district, namely 18 km south-east of Porkhov. In this village in 1498 there was the estate of the famous Zakhar Bespyatykh, as well as his three sons. It is believed that the name of the village came from two words: "ox" and "ishov", there is a version according to which the name came from the nickname Valysh - that was the name of one of the inhabitants of these places.

In 1539 this estate was sold to new owners, and they decided to register Volyshovo with the landowners Khlusovs. In the entire village there were three peasant households, which had 25 land acres, as well as one unplowed. During the second half of the 18th century, Volyshovo passed into the hands of the Ovtsynov landowners, after which it became the property of the Vasilchikovs. The Volyshovo estate was considered a real pearl of the famous Stroganov empire and was one of the most luxurious estates in all of Russia.

The earliest and earliest information that has survived about the estate dates back to 1784. After a while, in 1880, S.A. Stroganov, who owned the estate until 1917. During the period of the late 18th - early 19th centuries, the main buildings of the Volyshovo estate were a large manor house, not far from the temple of the All-Merciful Savior; on both sides of the main entrance there were two small outbuildings; on the opposite side from the manor house there was a stable, as well as an equestrian yard with several residential buildings adjacent to it. The manor house itself was built in a mixed style, because the main part was decorated in the Baroque style, and the side parts are in the traditional classic style. It is worth noting the interior decoration of the house, which amazed with its amazing beauty and luxury: the staircase inside the house was made of marble, the doors were made of treated bog oak, the flooring was parquet of especially rare species of wood, and the ceilings and walls were exquisitely decorated using molding.

The total area of the Volyshovo estate was a rectangle stretched from west to east, located perpendicular to the small river Vogoshche, which was completely surrounded by a park. In the northern part of the estate there was a road leading from Pskov to Velikiye Luki. The estate was located among the valleys of the Sheloni river and fields in the form of a fresh blooming garden. Most experts note that the Volshovsky park adjacent to the estate, which is located on an area of about 20 hectares, has 24 species of various trees, as well as 14 varieties of shrubs - among these representatives there are especially rare forms and species that are not very typical for the northwest. During the Nazi occupation, numerous plantations of the park were significantly damaged, which was more reflected in the alleys from the western thuja, which was cut down during the retreat of the Germans from this territory.

At one time, Count Stroganov's stable was very famous literally throughout the country, which brought glory not only to the trotters themselves, but also to their owner. In 1928, on the basis of the landlord's economy, a stud farm was opened for breeding trotting horses, an original Russian breed. Ten years later, the Volshov trotters really became famous, they became famous in all corners of the Soviet Union. & nbsp; Since 1941, the famous stud farm was closed. As soon as the Pskov region was liberated from the German troops, the stud farm began its work again. By 1949, the entire economy was completely restored.

During the two wars, the Volyshovo estate was not destroyed. There was a school at the manor house, and a club at the church; the workers of the plant, agronomists and teachers lived in the living quarters and outbuildings. By the mid-80s, residential and household buildings were preserved, which became literally a miracle that has come down to our days.
