The Donetsk Railway Museum is located at the Donetsk Railway Station. The museum was opened in August 2000 in honor of the 130th anniversary of the foundation of the Donetsk railway. The founder and director of the museum is Volodymyr Donchenko.

The museum houses about 2000 exhibits, which are represented by various awards, documents, various forms of clothing, as well as railway tools and equipment, old photos and many other objects of history. Among the collections of the museum there are: the edition of 1909, which was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Catherine railway; Morse telephone sets; uniforms of 1936; rod apparatus. The exposition of this museum is located at the Yuzovo station in the old depot building.

Museum employees are actively working on the collection and restoration of old iron equipment. The carriage, which carried the famous military leaders Voroshilov and Brusilov, awaits its turn for restoration.

Today the museum houses 25 units of this rare rolling stock. The oldest of them is the salon-car of the well-known General Voroshilov, 1898. Also in the museum there is a steam locomotive "b-2062", which was released in 1929, it is known to many under the name "Cuckoo". It used to stand in the city park, but after it almost became the prey of scrap metal collectors, it was placed in a museum. This steam locomotive is the only exhibit in the CIS that has survived to this day.

And in 2006 the museum was replenished with a new exhibit - the Amphibian machine.
