Excursions in Parikia on the island of Paros, in addition to exploring the beaches and natural beauty, include a visit to the Monastery of Christ in the Woods. The road to it goes up 500 m and ends on a slope, near stone structures.

The monastery was built in the 17th century. The monastery officially bears the name of Saint Arsenios, the patron saint of the island of Paros, as well as the church, opened in 2002, where the remains of the saint rest. It is an impressive basilica with a dome and double bell tower, which is entered through arched doors.

The Monastery of Christ in the Woods, or St. Arseny, annually holds sacred celebrations on January 31 and August 18. The three nuns and the abbess, permanently residing in the complex, keep it in proper form and open to believers and tourists.
