The armored boat "Yeisk patriot" is one of the sights of Yeisk. Located on the Yeisk Spit in the center of the beach complex, the boat was installed on May 8, 1975

The history of the armored boat began in 1944, when the city's enterprises, despite the difficult conditions after the occupation, began to revive their production. Employees of the Zapchast plant (today a machine-tool plant) made a proposal to raise money for the construction of a warship. Local residents supported this idea and began to raise funds.

Armored boat B-162 was built by the end of 1944 at the Astrakhan plant "X Let Oktyabrya". In total, four boats of the same series were produced. After some time, the boat took its place in the battle formation of the ships of the Azov military flotilla (now the Danube river military flotilla). On December 20, 1944, he began his first combat path and went from Ishmael to Vienna.

The boat was engaged in the transportation of equipment and troops, ensured the landing of troops, with fire from its two guns supported the offensive of the Soviet troops in the battles for Vienna, Bratislava and Heinburg. In the battles for Heinburg, the armored boat repelled seven enemy air raids. In two days, he was able to transport 38 vehicles, 4 tanks, 17 self-propelled guns, 2,188 soldiers with weapons and ammunition to the area of combat battles. For all its actions, the boat received the title of "Guards".

The BK-162 completed its combat path after successfully completing the passage through the mined fairway from Budapest to Vienna. After the write-off, the boat was parked in Ryazan, where he was accidentally found by veterans. Thanks to the initiative of local residents, it was decided to install the BK-162 on a pedestal in the city of Yeysk.

Work on installing the armored boat "Yeisk Patriot" on a high pedestal began in the spring of 1975 and was carried out by the builders of the fish factory. The construction engineer G.M. Mitaev.
