In this district is the city of Ubud, which is considered the center of Balinese artistic life. The Rudan Museum was founded by the artist Nioman Rudana. In addition to being the founder and owner of the museum, Nioman Rudana is also the founder of artist support organizations in Ubud. At one time Nioman Rudana was a member of the Council of Representatives of the Indonesian Regions. Nioman Rudana is a follower of the Balinese concept of Three Hit Karana, which is widespread among the indigenous inhabitants of Bali and whose principles are based on the harmonious relationship of man with divine forces, nature and other people.
