Photo and description

In the Leningrad region, 10 km from the city of Primorsk, there is a group of islands and the Kiperort peninsula. The beautiful nature has been preserved here intact, thanks to the fact that in 1976 this territory was given the status of the State Complex Nature Reserve. Its area is 11295 hectares, more than half of which is the water area of the Gulf of Finland. The task of creating the Vyborgsky reserve is to protect the landscape area, preserve areas of coastal vegetation, unique species of plants and rare animals, the Kiperort peninsula.

The reserve is famous for berry places. There are a lot of strawberries, lingonberries, blueberries in the pine tree. In the lowlands, you can find swamps with various types of rare mosses and lichens. Among the unique plants is the amphiatlantic species of the marsh gristle.

The territory is occupied by forests of linden, oak, ash. In the reserve there are places free of trees and bushes, these are flood meadows, sandy coast, where tourists often like to rest. With a spinning rod or a fishing rod, they arrange a fish hunt for various fish that remain here for spawning: pike perch, bream, whitefish, herring, smelt perch, eel. There are also Baltic cod, garfish, pinagor. From amphibians, the crested newt lives here, and from such a species as a reptile, an ordinary one is registered.

In spring, you can see a massive camp of waterfowl here. Migrating whooper and tundra swans, merganser, river and diving ducks, geese, black and barnacle goose, various species of sandpipers, gulls, gray crane and other birds stop in shallow water. In autumn, land birds stop here to rest and feed: pigeons (wood pigeon, klintukha), woodpeckers, owls. Several species of bats also live here, especially during the spring and autumn migration. For permanent nesting, we chose the Vyborg reserve oystercatcher, turnbleheads, herbalists, sea duck, black goose, polar, black and little terns, sea gull, dunlin, and black gull.

The hilly terrain is beautiful. Valuable rocks have been discovered here, on some islands the rocks are made of granite, the locals gave them a beautiful name - selgi.

For those who like to enjoy the diverse fauna and flora of the forest, the entrance is always open here. Tourists, including whole families and many fishermen, rest in picturesque corners of nature. There is a special tourist route for those who like to travel through water bodies. From the ship, guests can admire the natural areas of the Gulf of Finland of the Karelian Isthmus. However, there are also restrictions in the reserve that cannot be violated. It is forbidden to collect birch sap, mushrooms, fruits, berries here, to harvest bark, medicinal raw materials for industrial purposes. You cannot litter, arrange unauthorized dumps, car parks in the wrong place, make fires in unequipped places. It is also forbidden to hunt game birds in spring, the use of traps is completely excluded.

However, there are always fans to violate the environmental legislation of the Russian Federation, and poachers have looked after a tidbit of fauna of the natural complex. Therefore, the Leningrad security institution "Cancer Lakes" strictly follows the order. Well, the guests who follow the rules established in the reserve by the nature protection committee of the northern capital and the laws of the country are always waiting here. You can get to the Vyborgsky nature reserve by car, bus or train from St. Petersburg to Pribylovo station. Further, transport is organized to the Kyperort peninsula and boats to the islands.
