The Euphrasian Basilica can be called a truly exquisite temple structure, which was erected in Porec by Bishop Euphrasius. The building was built in the sixth century on the site of the remaining ruins of the old basilica, some of its fragments were used.

The style of the Euphrasian Basilica can be called a mixture of European and Byzantine architectural schools. The greatest historical and aesthetic value of this building is a beautiful Byzantine mosaic with images of the Virgin Mary, the Infant Christ and the patrons of the city of Porec. The latter include Archdeacon Claudius, his son Euphrasius, as well as Bishop Euphrasius, who holds a model of the basilica, and St. Maurus. It is worth noting the colorful image of the entire complex. As for the people and angels located on both sides of the Virgin Mary, - they really look like paintings come to life.

An earthquake that occurred in the middle of the 15th century led to the collapse of part of the basilica. For many years it was in a badly damaged condition, and only by the 18th century it was restored.

Due to the unique acoustics of the Euphrasian Basilica, various musical concerts are often held here. In addition, all the guests of the temple strive to climb the bell tower, because from here an amazingly beautiful view of Porec opens up.
