Wat Rong Khun, better known as the White Temple, is one of the most unusual and memorable temples in northern Thailand and the country as a whole.

Its construction began in 1996 and will end, according to the author Chalermchay Kositpipat, only 60-90 years after his death. For him, the White Temple is a life-long project, his own amulet of luck. Chalermchai is a freelance artist, sculptor and architect. He builds the temple at his own expense and fundamentally refuses the help of sponsors, so as not to be led by anyone.

According to the author, Wat Rong Khun is the abode of Buddha on Earth, and it is difficult to doubt his words. With all its appearance, the temple declares its divine nature. It is made entirely in white and each element is decorated with the smallest glass tiles. The temple seems to fly in the air thanks to this technique.
