Wat Phra Doi Suthep in Thailand, Chiang Mai resort
Rating: 8,6/10 (2100 votes)  This temple is located 16 kilometers from the city, right on Mount Doi-Sukhtep at an altitude of 1600 meters. You can get to the temple by a staircase of 300 steps, which is surrounded by sculptures of serpents of the Nagas. The temple was built in the 16th century, but after that it was repeatedly restored and rebuilt. The main building is decorated with engraving and lined with gold plates. It contains the relics of the Buddha, placed in a reliquary. The observation deck of the temple offers a wonderful view of the city of Chiang Mai.
