The island of St. Anastasia (from 1945 to 1990, during the construction of communism in Bulgaria, the island of Bolshevik) is an island in the Black Sea, belonging to the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. In 1924, there was a concentration camp on the island, from which in 1925 the convicts fled to the USSR. Based on these events in 1958, director Rangel Valchanov shot the famous film On a Small Island.
