Photo and descriptionIt often rains in Karlovy Vary, therefore the springs of healing water, which the resort is famous for, are prudently framed by colonnades - vacationers can drink water from springs without fear of precipitation at any time of the year. There are several colonnades in the city. The Mlinskaya Colonnade was built at the end of the 19th century by the architect J. Zitek in the neo-Renaissance style. This is the largest colonnade in the city. Its length is almost 132 meters. Under the arches of the colonnade, there are five springs, one of which gave the name to the building - Mlinsky (Mill). Near the springs, their names are written on tablets, as well as short poetic lines dedicated to the resort. The roof of the colonnade is decorated with 12 statues, allegorical images of 12 months of the year. Above the famous hot spring Vridl in 1975, a covered glass building was erected for another colonnade, Vridelni. Previously, it was called Yuri Gagarin's colonnade, because of the nearby monument to the first cosmonaut. But after velvet the monument was removed. There is also the Market and Castle colonnades.
