Photo and descriptionThe Elvorti plant is one of the oldest and largest European agricultural machinery factories specializing in the production of seeders. The factory was founded in 74 in the 19th century by the English brothers Elvorti. From a small artisanal workshop that assembles, adjusts and prepares machines imported from England, the enterprise has evolved into a large production of agricultural machinery. The success of the plant, where most of the residents of Kirovograd (at that time Elisavetgrad) worked in the pre-revolutionary period, contributed to the development of the city and its infrastructure. The enterprise was called Elvorti plant until 1919, later it became known as "The first state machine-building plant of the city of Elizavetgrad". Still later - the "Third Agricultural Engineering Plant". AND, and finally - "Krasnaya Zvezda", whose products are known on all continents. During the Great Patriotic War, the plant was redesigned for the manufacture of shells, mines, mortars and other military equipment. After the nationalization of the Elvorti enterprise in 1919, the house was given over to the factory management, telephone exchange and other factory services.
