Arctic Park Polaria, created in 1997 by the Norwegian Department of Environmental Protection, is part of the Polar Research Center.

The museum building has a non-standard shape: it is made in the form of ice blocks. Inside the museum there is a panoramic cinema, a model of the coast with the Northern Lights, aquariums with inhabitants of the northern seas. Visitors show great interest in bearded seals, popularly called bearded seals, thanks to their good disposition and intelligence. The unusual architecture and typical inhabitants of the Barents Sea and Svalbard have made the museum a major attraction in Tromso.
