Photo and description

The Fjelheissen cable car was officially opened in 1961 by the ship owner Anton Jacobsen. The funicular operates to this day from the beginning of the ski season in March to September and during the New Year holidays.

The ascent in Fjelheissen to the observation deck of Mount Storsteinen, located at an altitude of 420 m above sea level, takes only 4 minutes. Once you reach your destination, you will take your breath away from the fantastic views of the local landscapes: mountains, rivers, fjords, panoramic views of the city.

On the mountain there is a restaurant with delicious food, a playground for children and a souvenir shop.
