Iloilo province occupies the southeastern part of Panay Island and borders the provinces of Antik and Kapiz, and is washed by the Gintotolo Strait in the north. The administrative center is the city of Iloilo. According to the 2007 census, the province is home to just over 1.6 million people, and together with the population of the city of Iloilo, 2.1 million.

During the Spanish colonization, Iloilo was one of the main provinces of the country. And today you can see beautiful examples of ancient architecture, similar to the architecture of Latin America. Another historic building in the province of Iloilo is the Old Capitol building, built by the Spaniards, which has housed government bodies since 1901. Dinagyang Festival is held here annually in January, which is called "the best tourist event in the Philippines."
