Photo and descriptionThe Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was founded in 1932. On November 25, 1999, the botanical garden was awarded the status of a scientific object constituting a national treasure. The Minsk Botanical Garden is rightfully considered the largest in the world. Its area is 153 hectares (for comparison: the Royal British Botanic Garden covers an area of 121 hectares). The collections of the Minsk Botanical Garden include more than 10 thousand names of species and varieties of plants. The Botanical Garden is, first of all, a scientific institution, where a lot of scientific work is carried out on the study and preservation of plants. Collections of ornamental plants of the Belarusian selection were given the status of the National Heritage of the Republic of Belarus. Minsk Botanical Garden will be interesting for botanists, and to the general public. In a well-planned area, you can not only admire the rarest plants (most of the collections are freely accessible), but also relax with the whole family. Here are organized recreation areas, gazebos, benches, toilets and summer cafes.
