Almost a quarter of a century later, due to a lack of space, the Botanical Garden was moved to the western part of the city. There it is located nowadays, occupying an area of 17.5 hectares. The initiator of the transfer, Romanian botanist Professor Dmitrie Bryndze, is considered the founder of the Botanical Garden that bears his name. Since that time, the active construction of new premises began, the settlement of greenhouses with plants. In 1891, after the completion of the construction of the greenhouse, the garden was open to visitors.

During the First World War, German occupation troops were based on the territory of the Botanical Garden, but significant damage to the collection of plants, as well as scientific and teaching work, caused The Second World War. The Botanical Garden received a new impetus for development in 1954, when it became the property of the University in Bucharest.

The Modern Botanical Garden is the largest collection of plants, as well as an academic institution whose purpose is to study and preserve the biodiversity of the Earth's flora. The garden is structured into zones representing the characteristic landscapes of all corners of the world. An appropriate microclimate has been created for subtropical and exotic plants.

In the garden there is a botanical museum - in the building of the architecture of the Brinkovianu era (17-18 centuries). The museum has ancient instruments and manuscripts of botanists of the past, products from minerals.
