The Millennium Monument of Brest was erected in 2009, despite the fact that the 1000th anniversary of Brest will only be celebrated in 2019. The monument was built on voluntary donations from the townspeople and funds from the city. The authors are sculptor Aleksey Pavlyuchuk and architect Aleksey Andreyuk.

The total height of the monument is 15 meters. It is crowned with a statue of a blessing Guardian Angel, facing towards the Brest Fortress, from which the ancient city of Berestye once began. Initially, they wanted to install a statue of the Virgin, but in a multi-confessional city they could not agree on a canonical image of the Mother of God, acceptable for believers of all denominations.

The figures of legendary historical figures and allegorical images of the Mother, covered with angel wings, stand. Chronicler and Nameless Soldier.

Volyn Prince Vladimir Vasilkovich holds in his hands the Brest Vezha - the donjon tower, built by him in 1276-88, and the Ipatiev Chronicle, in which Brest is first mentioned. The Grand Duke of Lithuania Vitovt is crowned with a crown and holds a sword in his hands - a symbol of greatness and invincibility for which the Brest land was famous. The enlightener Nikolay Radziwill Cherny holds in his hands the Bible, which was printed by his decree. The figure of the Mother symbolizes the filial love of the Brest people for their land. The chronicler symbolizes the 1000-year history of the city, and the Nameless Soldier is one of those defenders who defended Brest from the enemy during the Great Patriotic War.

In 2011, a high relief was additionally installed on the monument (sculpture, in which the convex image protrudes above the background plane by more than half of the volume), depicting six episodes of the history of Brest. The first episode is the legend about the founding of Brest “A merchant rode and got stuck in a swamp. And in order to get out of it, he ordered his servants to lay the bark of birch bark ", the second - the construction of the city, the third - the Battle of Grunwald, the fourth - the history of the printing of the Brest Fortress, the fifth - the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress, the sixth - the exploration of space by the Belarusians (among the pioneers of space was a Belarusian Petr Klimuk).
