Ethnographic complex "Kulata" description and photos - Bulgaria: Kazanlak. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionThe ethnographic complex "Kulata" (in Bulgarian "tower") in the city of Kazanlak is part of the historical museum "Iskra". Its location was not chosen by chance - it is located with the oldest quarter of the city, where the traditional appearance of buildings is still preserved. Kazanlak is small in size, but it has a peculiar urban culture and architecture. The latter is characterized by low-rise (low, one- or two-storey buildings), special decorative design of building facades. All this has long become a "visiting card" of the city. In 1976, the ethnographic exposition of the Historical Museum was placed in two restored houses. One of the buildings, built at the beginning of the 19th century, is a typical example of Balkan architecture. The one-story building has a kitchen and a room, used as a bedroom and living room. There is a shed in the yard for agricultural purposes. The second building once belonged to a prominent local public figure involved in trade and charity, Ivan Khadzhienov. The building is unique in its architecture, it cannot be found anywhere else in the city. This is an asymmetrical two-story house with an open veranda on the second floor and a porch. The famous Kazanlak roses are blooming in the courtyard garden. Guests of the museum are greeted with a glass of a drink made of these fragrant flowers. The exhibition of the Ethnographic Complex "Kulata" presents the features of the household life of Kazanlak residents of the last century. Museum visitors will get acquainted with the rich and unique culture of the Bulgarian Renaissance period. Topic: Ethnographic complex ”Kulata” description and photos - Bulgaria: Kazanlak. |
