The National Museum of Colombia in Bogota is the oldest museum in the country. It was opened in 1923. The museum is divided into four parts according to the composition of the exposition: archaeological, ethnographic, historical and art. Here you can see collections of paintings, engravings, sculptures, drawings, icons, decorative and applied arts. The building of the museum itself was renovated in 1975 and specially adapted for the exhibition, since it was previously a prison.
