The Museum of Colonial Art in Bogota has been open since 1942. Its collection is housed in a 17th century historic building, an architectural monument. Previously, it housed a Jesuit college and the National Library. And the exposition of the museum presents collections of paintings and wood carvings, collections of furniture, jewelry, porcelain and glass, musical instruments, as well as books and documents. All exhibits date from the post-Columbian period in history - that is, 15-20 centuries.
