Photo and description

The alluring world of wizards and fairies always attracts children. In fairy tales, they learn to distinguish between good and evil. The creation of the Puppet Fairy Tale Theater in Leningrad was not just the imperative of the times. The fact is that the wounded souls of the little citizens of the besieged city needed something bright and pure. On December 31, 1944, a debut took place - the first performance of a cultural institution. Then, only three actresses were involved in the production: Ekaterina Chernyak, Elena Gilody, Olga Lyandzberg, but how much warmth they gave the guys, what balm lay on their hearts!

The difficult post-war years left their mark on the theater, not there were enough funds, there were few actors. The performances remained at the amateur level, and only in 1956 the theater became a state institution. The change in status is connected with another joyful event - the theater is moving to the premises of a building on Vladimirsky Prospect. However, the team did not manage to turn around completely, the auditorium was in another place. But at the same time, the theater wins the audience's love of all generations. The fame of talented performances spreads far beyond the borders of our country.

The Puppet Fairy Tale Theater moves to a new stage of development in the 70s. At this time, the famous puppeteer director Yuri Eliseev was appointed to the position of director. Nelly Polyakova also contributed to the decoration of the scenery. Such a creative tandem creates an impulse in the theater. Talented productions come out one after another, moreover, the arrival of director Nikolai Borovkov becomes another source of inspiration. The creation of interesting performances arouses a new wave of interest in the performances, and participation in domestic and international festivals brings well-deserved prizes. But the most important reward for any artist is applause and praise from the audience. It's worth seeing their young faces full of delight, their clapping hands.

In November 1986, the theater moved to a permanent place of residence. A special project was developed, and a building was built on it on Moskovsky Prospekt. The initiative belonged to Georgy Nikolaevich Turaev. By the way, he directed the theater for 22 years, starting in 1965.

Another name is inscribed in the glorious history of the fairytale theater - the name of the chief director Igor Ignatiev. He completely changed the style of the performances, thus great performances began to play on the stage. Transformations take place from scenery to lighting, the theater takes on a new face.

All 20 artists are talented individuals who are ready to play in any role. The troupe's acting skills have earned various theatrical prizes and awards, and the honorary titles of Honored Artists of Russia were awarded to Valentin Morozov, Emilia Kulikova, Lyudmila Blagova.

The geography of the theater's tours is diverse. These are countries such as Bulgaria, Italy, Scotland, Yugoslavia, Germany and others.

Posters are always full of new productions, for example, the play "From Liverpool Harbor ..." was based on three fairy tales by Rudyard Kipling, and young viewers will learn where the camel's hump came from and why the rhinoceros has such thick skin. The beautiful Japanese story "Crane Feathers" tells the story of a man who saved a wounded bird, about the magical reincarnation of heroes. But good always helps to defeat evil, and the smallest viewers will understand the moral of the fairy tale - that the eternal human values love and happiness are priceless.

The St. Petersburg State Puppet Theater of the Fairy Tale at the Moscow Gate justifies the name, the door to the wonderful world of Buratino's heroes and Malvina, Frog Princess and Princes are open. All that remains is to buy a ticket and come to the Holy of Holies, where art is born on the stage.
