Photo and descriptionTrebiesa Forest Park is a conservation area with a total area of 126 hectares on the mountain of the same name, which rises 752 meters above sea level. The forest park starts from the southeastern part of Niksic, that is, part of it is located right within the city. Many hiking trails and winding paths leading to the very top of Trebies lead into the forest. In addition to hiking (there are many well-groomed walking paths in the forest park), you can admire the unique Montenegrin flora and fauna, which is not less rich and diverse than other scenic spots in this country. Animals and birds live here, as well as unique plants grow. For example, herbaceous plants, represented by more than 200 species, as well as at least 400 species of various trees. Also in the Trebije forest-park zone there are 14 species of endemic plants. All of them are found only here on the Balkan Peninsula. 14 different types of mushrooms, some of which are classified as rare species. The southwest of the forest park is known for its springs flowing into the Mkroshnitsa, a small river. Sports grounds and courts are equipped at the foot of the mountain where you can play football or tennis. Thus, active sports meet here with leisurely walks.
